Time for a New Year's Eve update!

So 12 months on, let's see how the list has come on.

Family and Friends
1.  Host Christmas Dinner 2008- least said about this the better really.  Who knew it could be so stressful and my family would drive me into the ground so! Never again I fear!

2. See my mum once a month (17/33) - have missed two months due to both me and mum being unwell, so they are not being counted - shit happens and life gets in the way - however the whole goal is somewhat obselete once I move to Cambridge in September 2009 and I see her every day!
3. Rise above all family squabbles for 6 months**
4. Have friends around for dinner 4 times in 2008 (4/4) -
5. Sit down with mum and record all family history/photographs before it's too late - completed 22 August 2008
6. Go out for dinner with Himself once a month (19/33)
7. Meet at least 3 of my LJ friends in real life (3/3) and a few others as well.
8. Play golf with my dad at least once. 
9. Write a letter/card to a friend or family member once a month (18/33)

Health and Well Being
10. Swim 4 times a week for 3 months (48/48) - completed 27 March 08**
11. 40 day Samadha -- commit to practicing yoga/meditation every day for 40 days - (4th August - 13th September 2008) (40/40)
12. Practice 10 minutes deep relaxation for every day for 3 months (90/90)
13. No alcohol for one month (30/30) - 24th August to 24th September 2008
14. Eat a proper breakfast every day for one month (30/30) - completed 5 Feb 08**
15. Practice Judith Lassiter's "Moon Club" sequence during menstruation for three consecutive months(3/3) - completed 29 March 08
16.  Maintain a 5x a week yoga practice for one year
- seven times a week most weeks to be honest.  Have been working towards a more subtle and meditative practice and am really pleased with how I have progressed.
17. Drink three cups of warm water with lemon a day for three months - completed 18 May 08
18. Stop smoking - Definitely my biggest achievement of the year.  Definitely.  Haven't had a cigarette since 19 October 2008.
19. Make home-cooked food and packed lunches four times a week for 6 months**
20. Bake once a week for 3 months (12/12) - completed 3 September 2008
21. Buy only eco-friendly household products as current ones run out - I actually took to making my own!**
22. Buy eco-friendly/fairly traded clothes and shoes (but only as and when I need them).
23. Have a massage once a week for one month (4/4)
24.  Go to the chiropractor at least once a month for one year (12/12) necessity rather than pleasure - it does make a huge difference to my back.
25. Go to bed before 10pm on 7 consecutive nights (7/7) - At Barnham Broom on holiday 31st May - 7th June 2008, actually did it without even trying.  Love holidays!
26.  Run/Walk 50 miles in 30 days (May 2009)

Career, Jobs, Writing
27. Give up City job by 1 April 2008 (left 20 March 2008)
28. Take "Teaching Pregnancy Yoga" course (completed April 2008)
29. Establish self as a yoga teacher in a more professional and less part time way in 2008.
30. Get "Yoga and Scoliosis" paper published in 2008 - published in the July 2008 edition of Yoga and Health magazine.
31.  Write first draft of "Yoga and Scoliosis" book.
32. Teach volunteer yoga (eg in a homeless shelter or prison) - started at The Mulberry Centre in September 2008
33. Learn HTML to manage own website (completed 16 Feb 2008)
34. Take "Yoga for Cancer" course ( 20th June 2009)
35. Set up Kid's Yoga Classes (2009) - changed to setting up Mum and Baby classes which is done.
36. Advertise and market yoga business -- especially for private clients**
37. Double length of "in progress" novel.

Arts, Crafts, Hobbies
38. Re-learn conversational French
39. Read a book in French
40. Finish knitting blanket
41. Learn to play piano
42. Write in a paper journal every day </strong></a></strong></a>[info]embodimentfor one year - Done, every single day.  Haven't missed a trick.
43. Paint or draw once a week for 6 months
44. Have a poem published
45. Make a scrapbook of photos, tickets and other mementos of 2008 - this became part of my journal but still done.
46. Milk a cow.
47. Learn to paint with oils rather than acrylics. 
48. Get a golf handicap
49. Get a birdie
50. Take photos of my last walk to work in March/April and make an album of them. 
51. Go to the folk club in Twickenham 6 times in 2008 (0/6) - totally forgot about this one!!!
52. Learn to crochet
53. Go to the cinema when I want to rather than waiting for the DVD. - came to the conclusion that I loathe and detest the cinema most of the time as it is full of troglodites who talk through films.  Plus I'm finding it increasingly difficult to sit in one place for longer than about an hour at a time. 

Finances and Practicalities
54. Live within my budget every month for six months (6/6)**

55. Pay off credit card every month for one year (4/12) - yes well.... slightly changing this one to paying off my credit card in full before the end of the 1001 days.
56. Update my will - crap.  This is kind of urgent now!
57. Keep a spare change jar and don't break into it until 1001 days are over. 
58. Save £1 a day for 1001 days.
59. Clear out clothes and shoes but only replace what you need. 
60. Buy lottery ticket once every three months (5/11) - think I'm due to buy one of these
61. Get eyes tested before I leave work (whilst it is still free!) (completed 22 Jan 08)

Literature and the Arts
62. Go to the ballet 4 times in 1001 days (2/4)
63. Spend a morning reading in a coffee shop once a month for 6 months (6/6)
64. Read Finn Family Moomintroll - completed 11 February 2008
65. Read Watership Down - completed 18 August 2008
66. Read entire series of Inspector Morse novels (2008)
67. Read entire series of Falco novels (2009)
68. Read 25 Victorian Novels (6/25). 
69. Watch Shakespeare in Stratford  - Love's Labour's Lost 4 October 2008
70. Go to the opera (completed 17 February 2008)
71. Go to a symphony.

Random Happy Things
72. Have tea at the Ritz
73. Have a pyjama day once a month for six months (6/6)
74. Go camping - Littlehampton 29 Aug - 1 September 2008

77. Do a Dave Grohl (grow my hair as long as it physically grows one last time before I'm too old!) - I have had two big cuts actually because otherwise it would look horrific, but here is a before and after shot. (Feb and Nov 08)

79. Listen to 50 albums I've never heard before (38/50)
80. Watch 50 films I've never seen before (50/50) 
81. Grow my own herbs
82. Paddle in the sea on Christmas Day. 
83. Get a new tattoo designed by Joolz.(booked for 4th October)
84. Have a holiday (7 nights or more) by the sea - Turkey October 2008 - my balcony was over the sea.  Admittedly it was a working holiday but nontheless....
85. Visit 6 British towns I've never visited before (1/6)
86. Make Himself take me to Paris!
87. Win a game of chess.
88. Smile every day.

To maintain momentum
89. Watch the sun rise on the midsummer solstice.
90. Read one book on the English Civil War and one on the American Civil War.
91. Make Jam - completed Sunday 10 August 2008
92. Read the Lord of the Rings without taking a break in between books and watch the films the whole way through
93. Scan in, file and sort family archive.
94. Blog (about yoga) every day for one month (April 09)
95. Move to Cambridge
96. To be completed December 2009
98. To be completed March 2010

And Finally
99. Donate £1 to charity for every uncompleted task in September 2010.
